Choosing the right location for your wedding can be one of the biggest decisions for your big day, but for those that live in Yorkshire, the amount of choice can be staggering.
We have so many great areas that you can choose to get married that it is hard to even lock down some basic ideas for a great ceremony, especially whether it be a winter, spring or summer wedding. So what are the hot Yorkshire wedding spots that we can enjoy for a perfect start to married life? Here are some ideas.
North Yorkshire
Whether it is the North York Moors National Park or The Yorkshire Dales National Park, there is a plethora of choice when it comes to the Northern side of Yorkshire for a great wedding event. There are luscious green fields, the coast to the east and some picture postcard villages that give a new meaning to “the English village”.
For those that know anything about North Yorkshire as a great wedding location will know that big manor houses are the real deal in this neck of the woods.
Locations such as Crathorne Hall Hotel, The Old Lodge and Birdsall House are just some of the more exclusive areas to get a royal wedding feel for your big day. From stately rooms to quiet reception areas, each of these mentioned manors are top of the list for a North Yorkshire location for a truly glamorous wedding.
South Yorkshire
It would only be right to talk about South Yorkshire after seeing what the North had to offer for wedding guests, and the south definitely does not disappoint. From the Peak National District to the country roads that even wind into north Derbyshire, you’re spoilt for choice when looking for that kind of location that is something different.
Whitley Hall Hotel stands out as a scenic location and somewhere where we have had experience with our own business! But there are more great venues such as, The Leopold Hotel in the city centre of Sheffield or Whirlowbrook Hotel just off from the popular Ecclessal road area are just two stunning areas to get married.
East Yorkshire
East Yorkshire is constantly overlooked for a great location for a wedding but it shouldn’t be. It has lots of charm, great little villages and yes, the coast. Locations where you can see the sea make for stunning start to married life and shouldn’t be overlooked without some careful consideration.
Dale Farm, nothing to do with the TV show, Emmerdale is one such great example of a truly different wedding location. A farm setting with the North Yorkshire coastline to view, what more could you ask for? Looking for something… grander? How about Carlton Towers? It has all the period features in a grand, private country manor setting. Perfect.
West Yorkshire
It would be rude to not speak of West Yorkshire as, after all, we are a West Yorkshire based business. Then there is New Barkland near Ripponden. A beautiful setting in country splendour, again, a short drive from major attractions – West Yorkshire always delivers on this!
